AC Installation in Madera, CA

On a hot summer day, the last thing you would wish for is worrying about the efficiency of your cooling system or fixing a noisy system. Generally, the noise can be irritating if your system has to run continuously to cool your home.

Be sure to contact Brian's Heating & Cooling, Inc. technicians if you notice any noise from your cooling system. Usually, a noisy AC starts with a slight humming sound or a periodic banging until it gets to the level of unbearable noise. Below are some helpful tips that you may use to quiet a noisy AC unit.

Inspect the Condenser and Compressor

Your AC unit’s condenser is the outdoor unit that helps your system release the collected heat. A compressor works to support the system’s coolant to circulate during heat exchange.

If you notice some noise from either of these units, be sure to check for any wear with the system’s motor. In most cases, you are likely to experience some noise with these parts following 10 years of your system installation. To fix the noisy condenser or compressor, be sure to replace or repair the worn motor parts.

Clean Your Fan Blades

If the noise source does not come from the system’s condenser motor or loose parts, general maintenance may help. For instance, you may have an accumulation of dust on the fan blades, which can increase your AC unit’s workload.

You can use a vacuum hose to remove the dust on your fan blades gently. Remember to be careful not to bend or push the blades. In addition, this could be the right time to replace or clean the air filters. This will help you quiet the noisy air conditioner and help you ensure that the system runs efficiently during the summer.

Install a Fence

Another effective way of reducing the noise from your AC unit is by building a fence around the system. This is a good idea if your system is not too old for a replacement. Installing a round fence around your air conditioner helps you bear the disturbing noise.

As you build the fence, make sure that you maintain a gap of about 3 feet. That is because your AC system requires some space to avoid overheating, which might damage your air conditioning unit.
